The People’s Emergency Briefing

A Community ScreeningJoin CATSA (Climate Action Thornbury and Surrounding Areas) and St Mary’s Church for a vital community event held at The Armstrong (Cossham Hall). We are screening The People’s Emergency Briefing, a powerful documentary that brings the latest climate science directly to you.Attendance is free, and we are privileged to be joined by our local MP, Claire Young  (Energy Security and Net Zero Committee), for a Q&A session following the film.

This 50-minute screening offers a unique chance to view the public record of the National Emergency Briefing recently delivered to MPs in Westminster. Featuring nine of the UK’s leading scientists alongside figures like Chris Packham and Deborah Meaden, the film provides an evidence-based look at how the climate and nature crisis is already impacting our food security, health, and economic stability. By joining us, you’ll gain a deeper understanding of what these global challenges mean for Thornbury and the wider UK picture. Following the film, a panel discussion with Claire Young will give local people the opportunity to share concerns and ask questions.

This event is hosted by CATSA—a Community Interest Company helping our area transition to sustainable energy—and St Mary’s Church, which is currently working toward Eco Church Gold status. Together, we invite you to connect with your neighbours and local leaders to help shape a more resilient, sustainable future for our community.
